Columbus to Celebrate Irish Proclamation Day at City Hall

On Friday, March 11, 2022, Council will celebrate the annual Proclamation Day, where Columbus celebrates it's Irish community and officially recognizes March 17th as St. Patrick's Day in the City.
“Proclamation Day is among the loudest and most joyful of the many ethnic and cultural celebrations we enjoy in Columbus," said Council President Shannon G. Hardin. "We’re honored to welcome the Shamrock Club back to City Hall as they prepare for March 17th St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Family Reunion.”
Additionally, Council will recognize Timothy McSweeney as the Grand Marshal of the 2022 St. Patrick's Day parade. Mr. McSweeney is a former City employee, and Columbus City Clerk. The parade will be be held downtown on March 17, 2022, beginning at 11:30a, with Councilmembers marching in the parade.
