BBI Logistics Lays Out Columbus Expansion Plan

BBI Logistics, one of Central Ohio’s fastest-growing companies, gathered with community leaders today to lay out its plans to develop its first corporate office in Columbus’ Arena District. The freight-brokerage firm founded in Columbus has grown to more than 175 employees with annual payroll of more than $56 million, and plans to create 953 new full-time permanent positions over the next 10 years. BBI will relocate to Astor Park near Lower.com Field in early 2024 to accommodate the expected growth.

“I’m thrilled that BBI will continue to grow their business operations right here in Columbus,” said Mayor Andrew J. Ginther. “The pandemic drastically changed consumer behavior for the foreseeable future – significantly increasing demand for complex logistics and reliable services – and this innovative local company is meeting that demand while creating good-paying jobs and expanding economic opportunity for our residents.”

BBI, which stands for Built on Better Integrity, provides transportation services and supply-chain solutions by leveraging their own internal data and technology. They can cater to a customer’s needs while remaining within budget. These factors have contributed to the exceptional growth of the company along with an employee base willing to work harder than the competition.

“The City of Columbus has played an intricate role in our success over the last few years in providing us with a strong economy, intelligent workforce and competitive startup costs,” said BBI Logistics President and CEO Brent Bosse. “The central location and affordable cost of living has been a catalyst in helping us create a culture to attract new employees while retaining the talent we already have. We are excited for our continued growth, both as a company and within the community.”

BBI saw its sales triple over three years, becoming the fastest-growing Central Ohio private company in 2021. BBI will net the city nearly $7 million in new income tax in addition to workforce development. The company’s future growth will be supported by investment from the City of Columbus and JobsOhio, for which the company has pledged to retain 175 full-time employees and create 953 new full-time positions with new annual payroll of approximately $80 million.

“BBI Logistics’ rapid growth with talent from the city where it was founded is a great Ohio success story,” said JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef. “With this new investment in Columbus’ Arena District, BBI brings a new corporate office and hundreds of jobs while strengthening Ohio’s reputation as a logistics and distribution powerhouse.”

“I’m dedicated to helping Columbus small businesses grow. BBI was founded here in Columbus, grew here and will continue to invest in our community. Our investment will help retain one of Columbus’ largest companies and will create hundreds of new jobs for our residents,” said Columbus City Councilmember Nicholas Bankston.

Established in 2017, BBI Logistics tirelessly works to develop a strong bond with its community and clients. BBI continues to innovate their approach to supply chain, and this has allowed clients and carriers to scale their business and improve efficiency across the United States.
