When:

6:00pm

What:
Council Member Bankston will hold a hearing to discuss potential changes to the Department of Development's Minimum Qualifying Incentive Wage Threshold policy. Currently, only jobs that pay $15 per hour or more qualify for city tax incentives. This policy, per city code, is up for review. During the hearing, Department of Development leaders will present data on the pay scales of jobs presently in the City’s incentive portfolio, as well as national market wage data and a policy recommendation on the policy going forward. We want members of the public, community advocates and stakeholders to leave this hearing with an even stronger understanding of how the City of Columbus uses its economic development tools to help create high-paying jobs for Columbus families.

Residents interested in providing testimony at the hearings must notify JP Dorval at [email protected] by 4:00pm on Tuesday, September 20. Written testimonies must also be submitted by 4:00pm.
