Norris Drive Area Water Line Improvements

CIP# 690236-100124

This project will be constructed as part of the Division of Water’s DOW) Replacement and Rehabilitation (R&R) Program and is located in Northland, North Linden, and Rocky Fork-Blacklick Community Areas (see map(PDF, 523KB)). The goal of this project is to replace existing 2-inch, 6-inch, and 8-inch water mains that have a high break frequency with new ductile iron mains. Replacement of these water mains will improve water service, decrease burden on water maintenance operations, and reduce water loss.

The project will include approximately 8,650 linear feet of water main replacement. The existing water mains range from 54 to 69 years in age. Along with the installation of new water mains, the project will also include new fire hydrant installations and water service transfers. Construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2023.

Prior to construction, the Neighborhood Liaisons will be contacted and informed of the project. Further community outreach may result though the Neighborhood Liaison Program. Notification letters will also be mailed out in advance to residents located near the project area. These letters will provide detailed information regarding the project and important contact numbers.

DOW plans to fund this project with a below market-rate loan through the Ohio EPA’s Water Supply Revolving Loan Account (WSRLA) Program. Prior to granting this loan, the Ohio EPA required a detailed submittal from the DOW to determine the project’s eligibility for the program.

The Ohio EPA has completed a Limited Environmental Review (LER) for this project. View the LER and the letter(PDF, 483KB) of "Notice of Issuance of a Limited Environmental Review and Finding of No Significant Impact”
