Council President Hardin’s Statement on Appointment of Mitchell J. Brown to Columbus City Council

“Tonight, Columbus City Council nominated and unanimously voted to appoint Mitchell J. Brown to fill the vacancy created by Council President Pro Tempore Elizabeth Brown.
We had a very impressive pool of candidates, and we sincerely thank everyone who took the time to apply. With the upcoming change to Council’s structure, my top priority was finding a candidate that will serve as an experienced caretaker and not as a candidate seeking to run in 2023.
We are deeply honored to have Mitchell J. Brown bring his great expertise as a former Councilmember and Director of Public Safety. His talent will be of extreme value during the next year as we continue to tackle critical issues such as housing, transportation, education, safety, health and wellness.”
