What:
Councilmember Lourdes Barroso de Padilla is introducing legislation that would set a standard for certain hiring practices among Columbus employers to create more pay equity. This standard includes not asking job applicants for their salary history, as well as not soliciting information regarding an applicant’s credit score or credit history under most circumstances. One of the ways employers can address the issue of pay equity is by modernizing hiring processes to implement best practices that acknowledge the diverse circumstances of folks across the workforce.
