Sensenbrenner is a downtown corner park, with flower gardens, a fountain, picnic tables, benches, and shade trees. Special events and weddings are often held here during summer months. The dedication took place on September 18, 1980 in honor of M.E. "Jack" Sensenbrenner, the former mayor of the City of Columbus. The colorful and sometimes controversial Sensenbrenner led this city from 1954 to 1959, and again from 1964 to 1971. He was once quoted as saying his town had "one of the greatest futures of any city in America."
