Over the past 5 years, I have personally lost 50lbs. I have always made fitness and being active a passion of mine. But it wasn’t until the last year or so that I realized that I could do all the working out with weights, cardio, and bike riding I could possibly stand, but I wasn’t going to make a real change in my body until I started changing my diet. Healthy cooking has now become just as much of a passion for me as the exercise. I try to have a lean protein source, and a healthy fat at every meal, and have added tons and tons of veggies to my diet, the greener the better. There are many different ways to “eat healthy” these days, but in my opinion the key is to stay away from processed (man-made) foods, and whatever your plan is, commit to it and stay disciplined. Nobody is perfect, if you make your goal to eat healthy, exercise, and stay committed at least 80% of your week, then you will be well on your way to meeting your wellness goals, whatever they may be.
