Objection Process

City Attorney Richard C. Pfeiffer, Jr.
WHEN:
Thursday, September 12, 2013
5:00 pm
WHERE:
Columbus City Council Chambers
90 West Broad Street
WHAT:
Columbus City Councilmember
Michelle M. Mills, chair of the

the state's annual liquor permitting process and how the public can work with
the city to object to the renewal of liquor permits held by problem
establishments.
The public meeting will provide a forum to explain the
liquor permit renewal objection process; make clear the city's role in
permitting liquor establishments and the limitations of that role; detail the
steps the city has taken to address problem liquor permit holders; discuss
different approaches to resolving community concerns with problem liquor
establishments; examine the efficacy of the city’s efforts to hold liquor
permit holders accountable; and highlight what the community can do to assist
the city in its effort to ensure that businesses selling alcohol do so in a
manner consistent with community standards.
Representatives from the office of Columbus City Attorney
Richard C. Pfeiffer, Jr., and the Columbus Division of Police will present and
provide background information on the liquor permitting/permit renewal process.
The meeting will be broadcast live on CTV, Columbus’

accepted on the day of the hearing. General rules of speaking before Council
