Councilmembers Join Pelotonia Ride to Support Cancer
Research
(Columbus)--Two Columbus City Councilmembers will be among
the more than 6,700 people expected to take part in this weekend’s 2013
Pelotonia bike ride to raise money for cancer research at The Ohio State
University Comprehensive Cancer Center-James Cancer Hospital and Solove
Research Institute. Councilmember
Michelle M. Mills, chair of the Public Safety and Judiciary Committee, is
making her third Pelotonia ride and plans to cover 50 miles. Councilmember Zach M. Klein, chair of the
Development and Recreation and Parks Committees, is making his first Pelotonia
ride and hopes to complete the 100-mile course.
“Cancer touches every segment of our society,” said
Councilmember Mills. “By riding together
and working as a team, we can raise the dollars our doctors need to perform the
research necessary to help find a cure as quickly as possible.”
“Pelotonia is one of the great community events that really
makes living in Columbus so special,” said Councilmember Klein. “It is about people helping people and
encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle while fighting cancer.”
