Updates to Standard Construction Drawing 4160Summary of changes• Revised anchor bolt lengths for both 4120/4121 type and 4170 type supports• Instructions added for instances when bedrock is encountered• Added options for foundations with greater depth for use when utilities are located within 5 feet of the signal support foundation. Special InstructionsThe deeper foundations are to be used only when specifically called for in the plans and/or with prior approval from the City Engineer. The deep foundation is not intended to eliminate utility relocation as a result of the installation of a signal pole. Deep foundations are a cost prohibitive item and as such are intended to be used only when utility relocation to obtain 5’ of clearance is not reasonably feasible.
