City of Columbus Annual Sewer Overflow Report Available
The Department of Public Utilities' annual City of Columbus
Sanitary Sewer Overflow and Water in Basement Report
, submitted to the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA), is available for review online. Consent order agreements between the city and state require the report to be filed annually with the agency. Additionally, strategies to reduce overflows from heavy storms in older areas built with combined sewers are being implemented through the 40-year Wet Weather Management Plan (WWMP), launched in 2005 and approved by the OEPA in 2009.
The full report is available to the public on the Department of Public Utilities' Web site in our
Forms and Publications Library
; click on the "Publications - Sewer Reports, Guides and Brochures" tab. Print copies are also available by request. More information about the WWMP can be found on the Project
Clean Rivers page
.
To report any suspected sewer overflows or other sewer related issues, Columbus residents should call 311 or 645-3111, or 645-7102.
