Our department re-dedicated the
Westgate Community Center, on October 16, 2014 after being
closed for a little more than a year for renovations.
Originally built in 1963 as a 31,300
sq. ft. facility, the kitchen, gymnasium, auditorium, game room, restrooms on
the first floor, classrooms, dance studio, the staff office, and the lobby have
all received updates. New additions to
the building, totaling 10,081 sq. ft., include a fitness room, multi-purpose
room, restrooms on the second floor, lower level classrooms, heating and air
conditioning, windows, and a new elevator.
The $5.5 million remodeling project was designed by Braun & Steidl
Architects., Inc. and the construction work was done by Gutknecht Construction
Company.
