Columbus Dog Parks
We know how much dogs love to go to the park! These five parks (listed below) have off-the-leash areas where your furry friend can really enjoy themselves. You can help develop a dogs' positive behavior by letting them socialize, and perhaps you may even make a friend of your own.
Special Notice
Although the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department does not
require vaccination or medical records for the dogs in our parks, for most
communicable viral dog diseases such as Canine Influenza Virus (CIV),
prevention through vaccination is strongly recommended.

Big Walnut Dog Park

Features: The Big Walnut dog park contains a side for small dogs and one for large dogs. Parking available (including spots for handicap visitors). Portable restroom, picnic tables, and a kiosk on-site. The dog park does not have water access. Rules are posted. Visitors are asked to remove all items they brought. (Examples: water bowls, dog toys, etc.)
Godown Dog Park

Godown dog park is operated by the City of Worthington and is expected to reopen June 1, 2021. (Though the City of Columbus does own the park property.)
Spindler Dog Park

Three Creeks Dog Park

Wheeler Dog Park

Features: The Wheeler dog park contains a side for small dogs and one for large dogs. This dog park has two sides and are rotated on a monthly basis. This is performed to allow one side to always be in the recovery stage (turf conditions). The dog park has been closed during the winter months to help with turf related issues. The dog park has no designated parking. People walk to the dog park or park on the street/curb if a spot can be found. Picnic tables, benches and a kiosk on-site. Park contains a drinking fountain. Dog Park Rules
Handlers are responsible for any injuries caused by any dog they bring to the park. Users of this park do so at their own risk. Neither the City of Columbus nor the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department shall be liable for any injury or damage caused by any dog in the Dog Park.
Handlers must immediately pick up and properly dispose of dog waste and must fill in any holes dug by your dog(s).
No pets other than dogs are permitted in the Dog Park.
Handlers must have proper license and vaccination tags while in the park.
Remove chokers and spiked collars while in the gate area.
Do not bring dogs that are aggressive, sick or in heat.
Dogs must be at least 4 months old.
Handlers must leash and remove their dog(s) at the first sign of aggressive behavior.
Handlers must remain in park with leash at all times.
Handlers may not bring more than 2 dogs.
Handlers must have their dogs under "Direct Control" at all times.
Handlers may use only bite-sized treats in the Dog Park.
Handlers must be 18 years old. Children under 13 are not permitted unless accompanied by an adult.
