Klein Elected Council President; Tyson Elected Council President Pro Tem
Columbus City Councilmembers on Monday
selected Councilmember Zach Klein as the body’s new council president and
Councilmember Priscilla R. Tyson as council president pro tem.
“I am honored and humbled by the confidence my fellow
councilmembers have placed in me to lead this body,” said Council President
Klein. “I am particularly excited to team up with President Pro Tem Tyson to
offer thoughtful, deliberative and progressive-minded leadership. I also look
forward to working with Mayor Andrew J. Ginther on behalf of all Columbus
residents.”

Klein, my council colleagues, and Mayor Ginther as we focus on creating job
opportunities, safe neighborhoods and enhancing the quality of life for all
Columbus residents," said Council President Pro Tem Tyson.
According to the City Charter, the
president of council presides at meetings of council and determines the meeting
agendas as well as appoints the chair and members of council committees.
The president pro tem, according to the
Charter, acts as the presiding officer of council in the absence of the council
president.
