Your Health Matters is a program, offered by Columbus Public Health, which consists of four FUN interactive classes. In this series you will learn new ways to be healthier and prevent disease! These classes are FREE and open to the public.

PreventionMatters

Prevention Matters

This module reviews the concepts of  a chronic disease is and goes over the important  prevention screenings for adults including blood pressure, diabetes, skin cancer, breast cancer, and prostate cancer.

We also introduce the importance of setting SMART goals and coming up with an action plan.

NutritionMatters

Nutrition Matters

This module reviews the concepts of healthy eating, reviewing portion sizes, and reading the food labels.

This module reviews the concepts of physical activity and importance of exercise focusing on aerobic exercise, stretching, flexibility, and strength.

This module reviews the concepts of consumer empowerment including ways to talk to your physician and how to best take care of your mind through stress reduction and better sleep.
