John Ivanic, City Council, 645-6798

Columbus has again received the highest possible credit rating from all three major rating agencies. Moody’s Investor Services, Fitch, and Standard and Poor’s have all affirmed the city’s AAA credit rating. Columbus continues to be one of the few cities, states or nations to enjoy the top credit rating.

“I believe we are better managed than any other large American city, and this credit rating is a testament to that,” Mayor Michael B. Coleman said. “I thank both Auditor Dorrian and City Council for their leadership in fiscal responsibility.”

"Thanks to Columbus' taxpayers, our city continues to have the respect of the municipal financial world,” City Auditor Hugh J. Dorrian said.

“Our bond rating allows us to save millions of dollars when we finance capital projects to build the roads, bridges, recreational facilities, and police and fire stations that protect Columbus,” said Priscilla R. Tyson, chair of Columbus City Council’s Finance Committee. “The savings are made possible by the careful planning and leadership of Auditor Dorrian, Mayor Coleman, and City Council.”
