Councilmember Page Hosts Event on May 2 To Support Columbus Amateur Boxing Programs

Recreation and Parks Committee chair Jaiza Page is partnering with her Olympic Gold Medal winning father Jerry Page to host a unique event to support Columbus amateur boxing programs.  The Fighting for Our Champions fundraiser will take place May 2 at the Arena Grand Theater and is a watch party for one of the most anticipated sporting events in years, the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight.

“There is so much hype for this one fight, I am hoping to harness some of that energy and help kids at recreation centers become the next Jerry Page,” said Councilmember Page.  “I am proud of my father for what he has accomplished and thrilled that he is still positively impacting the lives of our young people by coaching at Beatty Park Rec Center.”

Jerry Page was born and raised here in Columbus and won a Gold Medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics.

Situated in the heart of the Arena District, the Arena Grand Theater provides an exciting backdrop to watch this fight and enjoy a night on the town for what is sure to be a memorable event.

Tickets for Fighting for Our Champions are just $55 and include a full evening of entertainment and fight previews from some of Columbus’ biggest names in the sport.   For ticket information or sponsorship opportunities, call 614-214-9971 or email [email protected].
