Councilmember Page Helps Re-Open Lincoln Pool
Councilmember Jaiza Page, chair of City Council’s Recreation
& Parks Committee, today helped re-open Lincoln Pool, 570 Woodrow Ave., one
of the original pools on the South Side.
The pool, adjacent to the Barack Community Recreation
Center, was re-opened after the city of Columbus invested $4.2 million in
refurbishing the facility. Lincoln Pool, which is open daily from now through
mid-August, includes a double slide, play features for young children and
competitive lanes for daily lap swimming and swim team training and many more
features.
“City Council is
pleased to be able to help provide the financial resources for much needed
facilities like Lincoln Pool in our neighborhoods,” said Page, who also chairs
council’s Education Committee. “Pools like Lincoln Pool are great assets for
our neighborhoods and provide much needed activity during the hot summer months
for old and young alike.”
Lincoln Pool replaces a pool that was built in the late
1960s.
