Councilmember Hardin Helps Open Quarter Horse Congress

City Councilmember Shannon G. Hardin joined community leaders to celebrate the beginning of the 2015 Quarter Horse Congress. The event is the largest single breed-horse show in the world and attracts more than 650,000 people to Columbus and generates some $200 million for the local economy.

“The Congress is one of the largest events we host in the city of Columbus,” said Councilmember Hardin, chair of the Small & Minority Business Development Committee.  “We are always thrilled to help the Congress with putting on the greatest horse show in the world and we encourage those from central Ohio and beyond to come out and enjoy the Quarter Horse Congress.”

The Congress runs through October 25 at the Ohio Expo Center and features more than 900 competitors and more than 225 vendors selling everything from jewelry to furniture to the latest in Western apparel and horse products.
