Columbus Mayor-elect Ginther and Council Finance Chair Tyson React to Mayor's Budget

Columbus Mayor-elect Andrew J. Ginther and Finance Committee chair Priscilla R. Tyson comment on Mayor Coleman’s 2016 proposed General Fund Budget:

“Mayor Coleman’s balanced budget places the City in a strong position to deliver critical city services and invest in Columbus neighborhoods,” said Mayor-elect Ginther. “The proposed budget is a responsible plan that invests in the future of Columbus through continued support for infant mortality reduction, expanded access to high-quality prekindergarten and by increasing our investment in public safety.”

“The health and safety of our residents are always the top priorities for City Council and this budget reflects that,” said Councilmember Tyson, who also heads the Health and Human Services Committee.   “I thank Mayor Coleman for his leadership in forming this budget and look forward to engaging our residents to develop a final budget package that will be completed early next year.”

City Councilmembers will begin the budget review process that will include a series of public hearings and informational sessions.  Dates and times for the meetings will be announced in the coming weeks.
