Mayor-elect Ginther Announces Swearing-in Ceremony and Community Events
Mayor-elect Andrew J. Ginther today announced plans for his
official swearing-in ceremony, and for a separate ceremonial swearing-in and
community event to be held later in January. Both events are free and open to
the public.
Ginther will take his official oath of office this Thursday, Dec.
31 at 6:00 p.m. at the Center of Science and Industry
(COSI) Founder's Atrium on the first level. He will assume office at midnight.
The brief program, oath and remarks will be capped with a
hot chocolate toast for children. The event is scheduled in coordination with First Night Columbus, a
family-friendly New Year’s celebration. While the swearing-in ceremony is free,
admission to First Night festivities requires attendees to purchase a ticket.
Mayor-elect Ginther has also scheduled a ceremonial
swearing-in event for Wed. Jan. 13, 2016 at the Lincoln Theatre at 6 p.m. The free
community event will include a light reception.
Additional details on the Jan. 13 event and other inaugural
activities will be announced separately.
