BIKE TO WORK DAY IS FRIDAY, MAY 17!

Join hundreds of riders by biking into downtown along one of several pre-planned routes mapped here. All routes will end at Columbus City Hall at 8:00AM for a celebration including breakfast and brief announcements.

Attendance is free, but please register so that we know how many people to expect: https://b2wcbus2019.eventbrite.com

(Please register even if you're not planning to ride with a group - choose "I'll meet you at City Hall!" option.)

Our friends at CoGo Bike Share will also be at City Hall handing out free bike helmets to their Annual Members! Members will just need to come and show their membership key to get a free helmet.

Big thanks to our breakfast sponsors:

PULLL app

PULLL YOUR COMMUTE!

To celebrate Bike Month and Bike to Work week, Smart Columbus is partnering with PULLL to support your daily commute. That’s right - when you walk or cycle to work or class, Smart Columbus is here to power you each step (or pedal!) of the way.

Download the PULLL app and you’ll now see a new ‘Commute’ activity in the PULLL app. Select that activity prior to your work or school commutes each day. By commuting car-free, you’ll help power a smarter, more sustainable transportation network in central Ohio—and raise money for cancer research at the same time.

Commuting concerns LONG

NEED SOME POINTERS?

Bike to Work Day is a great day to ride for the first time, because no matter where you're riding from, we'll be out there with you. Bike to Work Day shows what our streets could look like every day if we continue encouraging and investing in bicycling as transportation.

May is Bike Month Square 2

NATIONAL BIKE MONTH

May is National Bike Month, sponsored by the League of American Bicyclists and celebrated in communities from coast to coast. Established in 1956, National Bike Month is a chance to showcase the many benefits of bicycling — and encourage more folks to giving biking a try.

More than half of the U.S. population lives within five miles of their workplace, making bicycling a feasible and fun way to get to work. With increased interest in healthy, sustainable and economic transportation options, it's not surprising that, from 2000 to 2011, the number of bicycle commuters in the U.S. grew by more than 47 percent.

You can find a listing of Bike Month events throughout Columbus and Central Ohio at https://morpc.gohio.com/regional-programs/bike-month/
