Campaign Finance Database
The City of Columbus requires campaign committees, political action committees, political contributing entities, and political parties that make a contribution to or expenditure in support of or opposition to a municipal candidate or municipal ballot issue to file campaign finance disclosure statements with the Franklin County Board of Elections and with the City Clerk. These campaign finance disclosure requirements are provided in Section 2321.53 of the Columbus City Codes and are in addition to the campaign finance disclosure requirements under Ohio law, Ohio Revised Code section 3517.10.
The Columbus Campaign Finance Database provides greater transparency by allowing citizens to search and view contributions and expenditures and other campaign finance reports for campaign committees of municipal candidates and municipal ballot issues.
The Columbus Campaign Finance Database allows campaign committees to register, designate a campaign committee treasurer, and to input or upload data related to campaign contributions, expenditures, and other transactions.
