Statement from Council President Hardin on the Death of Sherwood Middle School Student

[COLUMBUS, OH] – Following the deadly vehicular crash on the east side of Columbus involving middle school student Elizabeth Robertson-Rutland, the following statement can be attributed in full, or in part, to Shannon G. Hardin, President of Columbus City Council:

“Our children are our greatest asset. It is heartbreaking that Elizabeth Robertson-Rutland was killed on the way to her bus stop. Council urges anyone with information on the driver in this incident to report it to the police. While the City is investing millions of dollars to build Safe Routes’ sidewalks each year near schools, we all must take responsibility to slow down along bus routes.”
