Councilmembers
Shannon Hardin and Michael Stinziano are rolling up their sleeves and digging
in the weeds to help beautify areas along Route 161 this Saturday.
The
goal is to clean all 986,000 square feet, 3.3 miles of green space, winterize
the landscape boxes and trim the trees.
In
partnership with the 161 Task Force, over 50 businesses are also stepping up to
donate supplies, volunteer their time or provide the breakfast served by
the North YMCA Youth Teen Leaders Club.
Also
on Saturday, at John Burroughs Elementary School, 551 S. Richardson
Ave., from 10am to noon, is the "7th Annual Sullivan Avenue Litter
Bust". South Central Hilltop is joining forces with West Side community
groups to clean Sullivant Ave. from Dodge Park to Georgesville Road.
