Council-members Help Prepare Meals-on-Wheels
[COLUMBUS,
OH] – As part of Columbus City Council’s
continuing efforts to provide a safe, quality life for every member of the
community, Councilmembers Elizabeth Brown and Michael Stinziano will help the
Meals-on-Wheels program by preparing meals at the LifeCare Alliance facility on
670 Harmon Ave.
Councilmember
Brown will prepare meals from 2-3pm on Friday, March 18, 2016, and
Councilmember Stinziano will do so on Monday, March 21, 2016 from 10-11am.
“With
each Meals-on-Wheels delivery, seniors receive a nutritious meal, a friendly
visit, and a safety check,” said Brown. “LifeCare Alliance provides a critical
service to our community’s seniors by helping them to preserve their
independence and age in place.”
Through its Meals-on-Wheels program, LifeCare
Alliance delivers 5,000 meals per day to older adults and chronically ill
people who are unable to provide meals for themselves. Volunteers
delivered over 1 million meals in 2015. The program serves people in five
counties in central Ohio: Franklin, Champaign, Madison, Marion, and Logan. More
