WELCOME TO THE COLUMBUS CITY COUNCIL ONLINE SPEAKER FORM

We welcome public input at City Council meetings and public hearings. You have four options to submit your testimony. They are written testimony via email or regular US mail, online speaker slip submission to testify during the Council meeting via WebEx or attend the public meeting to testify in person at City Hall, which is not encouraged during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

--PUBLIC TESTIMONY PROCEDURE DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC--

Council encourages public comment during its virtual meetings.  As with the regular in-person procedure, only the first three speakers for and against who submit time-stamped forms will be invited to speak to Council.

EMAIL OR MAIL YOUR TESTIMONY

You can email or mail public testimony. Include the committee you want to address, along with the topic of discussion. Include ordinance/resolution number and whether you are for or against. For City Council and zoning meetings, testimony must be received by 3pm on the day of the meeting. Send emails to cityclerkrequests@columbus.gov.  All written testimony submitted via email and US mail will be shared with Members of Council in advance and will be maintained as part of the official record of the meeting.

SUBMIT SPEAKER SLIP AND GIVE LIVE TESTIMONY ONLINE

Complete the online speaker slip form below identifying your intention to speak during the meeting via WebEx. Follow the instructions on the form and you will receive a link to the meeting from the Clerk’s office. To view the rules for speaking at Council visit www.columbus.gov/council/toolkit/rules-for-speaking-at-city-council/ Online speaker slips can be submitted between 8am-3pm on the day of the meeting.

IN-PERSON TESTIMONY AT CITY HALL

Although in person attendance is not encouraged for Council’s virtual meetings during the COVID-19 pandemic, this option is still available to you. Residents must complete an in-person speaker slip prior to the start of the meeting.
