What:
President
Pro Tem Tyson, chair of the Health and Human Services Committee, is hosting a
public hearing to review proposed legislation related to the Tobacco 21
initiative, which prohibits the sale of tobacco products to anyone under
the age of 21 in the City of Columbus.
This
legislation mandates that vendors obtain a retail tobacco sales license
administered by Columbus Public Health and post required signage. It
also prohibits the sale of tobacco products from vending machines
and requires ID for those under 30.
Public
testimony will be accepted. Comments will be limited to three minutes.
Individuals wishing to offer testimony must fill out a speaker slip between the
hours of 8am and 5pm at Columbus City Hall on the day of the hearing.
