Karan Froom brings over 20 years experience in training, development, marketing, and corporate communications to the Commission. She’s currently the Manager of Transformation Change Management for NiSource, a Fortune 500 energy holding company engaged in natural gas transmission, storage and distribution, as well as electric generation, transmission and distribution.

In her role as Commissioner, she hopes to drive increased cultural awareness and inclusion by finding new ways to educate the community and market the services of the Community Relations Commission.

Ms. Froom has lived in the Columbus area for the past 17 years and during that time has been actively involved with the community; including serving on the Destination Hilliard trustee board, acting as the corporate United Way chairperson for Cardinal Health and WorldCom, volunteering at various charity events, and organizing a personal fund drive for Feeding America, among other things. Prior to moving to Columbus, Ms. Froom worked in the non-profit sector in Springfield, Illinois as Community Outreach Manager for the Central Illinois Foodbank where she coordinated that city’s first food drive in conjunction with the U.S. Postal Service.
