About Council President Hardin
Council President Hardin has said that his time on Council will
be measured by how much he can improve the lives of vulnerable young people in
Columbus. Council President Hardin serves as the Co-Chair of the Columbus My
Brother's Keeper Initiative, which aims to bridge opportunity gaps for young
people of color and raise the bar for the entire community.
As our city grows, Council President Hardin is committed to
ensuring a spot for everyone and creating a robust transportation system to
connect residents with jobs, education, and healthcare.
As External Affairs Manager for the Office of Mayor Michael
B. Coleman, Council President Hardin launched a number of programs to serve the
most marginalized in Columbus. This includes Restoration Academy, an annual
program that offers paid internships to restored citizens, as well as A.P.P.S.,
a community-focused effort to reduce crime and violence through street-level
interruption and conflict mediation teamed with support services to address the
risk factors that can lead youth into a life of crime and violence.
