Columbus Development Commission - Policy Committee
Policy meetings are staffed by the Planning Division and include consideration of such things as proposed land use plans, zoning overlays, area wide rezonings, code changes and development policy. The Development Commission policy meetings serve as a public hearing opportunity regarding such proposals. Development Commission recommendations are non-binding and are forwarded to City Council for their consideration.
The Development Commission is established through City Code (3105.01 and 3105.03) and is appointed by the mayor with the approval of council. The commission holds two types of meetings: zoning, and policy. Zoning meetings are staffed by the Building and Zoning Services Department and involve consideration of zoning map amendment applications. Policy meetings are generally held as needed. Meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. and are typically held at the City of Columbus North Complex, 757 Carolyn Avenue.
