Police Cadet Physical Fitness Training
It is the goal of the physical fitness training program to provide Cadets with the knowledge and applicable skills to begin, maintain, and sustain a productive and successful career in law enforcement. This goal can be accomplished through education, motivation, and promotion of a healthy lifestyle.
Through education, we can guide the cadets to a higher level of both strength and cardiovascular endurance. Instruction includes proper technique and methods to ensure safety.
The Columbus Division of Police (CPD) physical fitness program will follow the standards outlined by the CPD Recruit Training Academy. These standards will ensure that the cadets are performing at their best. Furthermore, these standards will aid each cadet in preparing for the physical fitness portion of both the Civil Service physical fitness testing process and the OPOTA pre-employment physical fitness examination.
