Initial information was that gunshots were heard and that someone had been shot. A male victim was located at this location and was in critical condition. CFD Medic 21 transported the victim to Mt. Carmel East Hospital. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced at 6:27p.m. |

Officers discovered the male victim, later identified as Michael Benjamin Blankenship, suffering from a gunshot wound and appearing lifeless. CFD Engine 15 responded to the scene and pronounced Mr. Blankenship deceased at 12:47 a.m. |

On Friday, August 3, 2018, the victims’ death was ruled a Homicide by the Coroner’s Office. |

| Details: On August 3, 2018, at approximately 12:10 a.m., Columbus Police officers were called to 442 S. Yale Avenue on the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive male victim, later identified as Tabyus Terrell Chappell, lying outside the front of the residence suffering from a gunshot wound. CFD Medic 10 responded to the scene and transported Mr. Chappell to Mt. Carmel West Hospital, where at 12:40 a.m. he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by attending medical personnel. |
