March is National Nutrition Month! Put Your Best Fork Forward.


March is National Nutrition Month® and this year’s theme is “Put Your Best Fork Forward." The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Columbus Public Health encourage you to give a little more thought to the foods or beverages you eat.  Even being mindful of how, when, why, and where you eat is important. Take time to enjoy food traditions with family, friends, and coworkers while also following a healthy eating pattern.

Take time to enjoy a healthy meal or snack at a meeting or event.

  • Make Snacks count by serving at least two of the five food groups (like fruit, vegetables, protein, grains, and/or dairy).
  • Promote water first for thirst by providing water pitchers and cups.
  • Incorporate physical activity at meetings or parties.
  • Limit screen time by encouraging others talk and mingle around the room.
