DETAILS
Drunk driving continues to take a terrible toll on the Nation, killing almost 10,000 people each year. That’s why local law enforcement agencies such as the Franklin County DUI Task Force are banding together across the Nation to get drunk drivers off our roads by aggressively conducting the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign.  If motorists drive drunk, they will get caught and they will get arrested.  The 2013 Driver Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign Kickoff will take place on the front steps of Huntington Chapel which resides in the middle of Green Lawn Cemetery.

We will have a compelling rose display representing the number of Franklin County motor vehicle fatalities from 2012.  Alcohol related fatalities will be identified.  We intend this to be a meaningful visual and photo opportunity and media will be invited to rearrange the display as needed.

Franklin County Coroner, Dr. Jan Gorniak, will address law enforcement officers and other highway safety advocates at the kickoff ceremony about the dangers of drunk driving.

MADD Victim Advocate, Randy Young, will describe how drunk driving affects countless victims.

Franklin County Sheriff, Zach Scott, will be available for questions.

EDITOR’S NOTE
This year’s Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over national campaign and enforcement mobilization will run August 16th - Sept. 2nd.
