Columbus Public Health to Spray Area Neighborhoods to Prevent West Nile Virus
 
 
WHAT:        Columbus Public Health (CPH) practices disease control and prevention for the West Nile virus by trapping mosquitoes, investigating complaints, treating standing water, and spraying in areas with high mosquito counts and disease presence.  CPH will be spraying the areas highlighted in our on-line map to help control disease in our region.

        4 a.m.  – 7 a.m.

Wednesday August 13:
• Far North: (North Boundary – Lazelle Rd., East Boundary – Worthington Galena Rd., South Boundary – Park Rd., West Boundary – Sancus Blvd.)
• Near North/University: (North Boundary – Chittenden Ave., East Boundary – N Grant Ave., South Boundary – E 5th Ave., West Boundary – N High St.)

      Thursday August 14:
• Milo Grogan: (North Boundary – E 11TH Ave., East Boundary – Woodland Ave., South Boundary – I-670, West Boundary – Fields Ave.)

      Friday August 15:
• Northeast Columbus: (North Boundary – E Dublin Granville Rd., East Boundary – I-270, South Boundary – Morse Rd., West Boundary – Cleveland Ave.)
• East Columbus: (North Boundary – Mock Rd., East Boundary – Sunbury Rd., South Boundary – I-670, West Boundary – Joyce Ave.)

DETAILS:    Weekly spraying areas are determined by mosquito trap results and reports from field staff, the number and type of mosquitoes trapped, the number of infected mosquitoes and evidence of human disease. Updated spraying maps are available on the Columbus Public Health Web site.
