Public Health to Distribute Free COVID-19 Home Test Kits at Drive Thru Event
Tomorrow
People
are Encouraged to Test for an Added Layer of Protection before All Summer
Activities
Columbus
Public Health will be distributing free COVID-19 home test kits ahead of
Memorial Day weekend. Free test kits will be available at the Columbus Public
Health front loop (240 Parsons Ave.) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to
6 p.m. tomorrow, May 26, while supplies last. Participants
are limited to two tests
per person/eight tests per vehicle.
Residents
are encouraged to test before they gather with family and friends for any
summer activities as an added layer of protection against COVID-19. You should also test if you have any signs of
COVID-19 and stay home if you test positive or you are sick.
“COVID-19 has not gone away. Cases have been increasing over
the last few weeks, and we must use every tool we have before we gather for
summer holidays and activities,” said Health Commissioner Dr. Mysheika Roberts.
“In addition to getting vaccinated and boosted, testing before you gather with
others in a group adds another layer that protects you, vulnerable family and
friends, and children too young to get vaccinated.”
Free COVID-19 test kits also are available at many local
libraries and recreation centers. See other testing providers here.
The best way to prevent
serious illness and death from COVID-19 is to stay up-to-date on COVID-19
vaccines and booster doses. Columbus
Public Health offers all COVID-19 vaccines and boosters for everyone 5 years of
age and up. Learn more at www.Columbus.gov/c19vax.
