Columbus Public Health to Distribute
Free COVID-19 Home Test Kits at Drive Thru Event Tomorrow
People are Encouraged to Test before Gathering for Thanksgiving
Columbus
Public Health will be distributing free COVID-19 home test kits ahead of
Thanksgiving at the Columbus Public Health front loop (240 Parsons Ave.) from 3-6
p.m. on November 22, while supplies last. Participants
are limited to two tests
per person/eight tests per vehicle. Free naloxone and fentanyl test strips also
will be available.
Residents
are encouraged to test before they gather with family and friends for Thanksgiving
as an added layer of protection against COVID-19. You
should also test if you have any signs of COVID-19 and stay home if you test
positive or you are sick.
“COVID-19 has not
gone away. We must continue to use every tool we have before we gather for the
holidays,” said Health Commissioner Dr. Mysheika Roberts. “In addition to
getting vaccinated and boosted, testing before you gather with a group adds
another layer that protects you, vulnerable family and friends, and children
too young to get vaccinated.”
The
best way to prevent serious illness and death from COVID-19 is to stay
up-to-date on COVID-19 vaccines and booster doses. Columbus Public Health offers COVID-19 vaccines
and boosters, as well as flu shots. Learn more at www.Columbus.gov/c19vax.
