Infectious Disease Investigation

Program Information

Infectious Disease Investigation
Investigates reported cases of communicable disease, monitors disease in the community, and prevents the spread of disease. The team ensures proper investigation and follow-up of all reported cases of communicable disease, conducts disease surveillance, implements prevention strategy, educates residents, and manages Perinatal Hepatitis B cases.

Infectious Disease Reporting System (IDRS)
IDRS is a 24-hour phone line for reporting to Columbus Public Health or Franklin County Public Health. This is for health care practitioners and laboratories only.

Foodborne Illness Reporting
Many germs that make us sick can live in our food.  Use safe kitchen practices to keep your food healthy. If you are concerned about food safety, contact the nurse at (614) 645-1791.
