Knowing your status? Smart and sexy.

Do you know your HIV status? Getting an HIV test is a normal and important part of taking care of your sexual health. It’s easy. It’s also a smart way to keep your sex life safe and fun. Getting tested can be quick, is always confidential and is often free. Whether your results mean sticking with the HIV prevention measures that work for you or getting connected with care, you don’t have to deal with the results on your own. We can help you find support every step of the way.

Who should get tested?

Everyone should get an HIV test at least once. But some people and communities face a higher risk of HIV and should test more often. That includes:

  • Pregnant women, in their first and third trimesters and at delivery
  • Men who have sex with men
  • Trans women who have unprotected sex
  • Anyone who has anal or vaginal sex with someone who is HIV-positive
  • Those who share works or equipment when injecting steroids, hormones, silicone or drugs
  • People who have sex for a living or exchange sex for drugs
  • Individuals who have been diagnosed with syphilis in the last 12 months
  • Anyone with a sexual partner who has engaged in the behaviors on this list

Getting tested? You have options.

In most Ohio communities, you can get an HIV test in a lot of different places. Some options are fast and convenient, others offer your privacy or immediate access to the support and information you need. To find the right option for you, think about what matters most.
