City of Columbus service changes due to Thanksgiving
City trash service in Columbus will not be provided
on Thursday, Nov. 24, 2016, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
For residents assigned a collection color, pickup
will rotate forward by one day the week of the holiday:
Thursday, Nov. 24 - no
collection
Friday, Nov. 25 - gold
Monday, Nov. 28 - gray
Tuesday, Nov. 29 - navy
Wednesday, Nov. 30 - pink
Thursday, Dec. 1 - ruby
For residents not assigned a collection color: If your collection day falls on or after the holiday, your trash pickup
will be delayed by one day during the week of the holiday.
Recycling and yard-waste collection: Bi-weekly
recycling and yard-waste service with a collection day that falls on or after
the holiday will be delayed by one day during the week of the holiday, with
Friday’s collection occurring on Saturday.
The color-coded Refuse Collection schedule will
rotate again on Christmas observance, Monday, Dec. 26.
Motorists may park
free-of-charge at meters on Nov. 24. Parking restriction signage at some
meters will be enforced, including but not limited to morning and evening rush hours
plus zones marked for valets, taxis, loading, handicapped-only and residential
parking permits.
The Parking
Violations Bureau at 2700 Impound Lot Road will be closed Thanksgiving then
reopen 9 a.m., Friday, Nov. 25. Normal hours are Monday through Saturday,
9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
