The city of Columbus, the Ohio Department
of Transportation and Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission are collaborating
to improve Hamilton Road between I-70 and Refugee Road.
The project is scheduled to finish design work in spring 2018. Public comments
and suggestions are encouraged during the design phase.
The planned improvements will reduce
traffic congestion, improve safety, provide accommodations for pedestrians and
bicyclists, and include:
Roadway widening and resurfacing plus addition
of turn lanes
Sidewalk, curbs, gutters, shared-use path and
curb ramps
Upgrades to traffic signals, signage,
pedestrian countdown timers, push-button signals at
crosswalks and stormwater facilities
Street lights and trees
Plus more improvements for safety and traffic
movement
Representatives
from the city of Columbus, Ohio Department of Transportation and designer ms
consultants, inc.,
will be on-hand
to answer questions in an
open-house format; no formal presentation will be given. Exhibits illustrating roadway features
and property impacts will be on display.
