Parking Kiosks & Mobile Payment
The City of Columbus strategically places paid parking in areas where parking is in high demand. Paid parking is used to manage on-street parking to encourage the turnover and keep spaces from being used for extended periods. By managing curb-space, paid parking allows drivers to easily find parking and identify spaces designated for public use. Parking durations, rates, and times vary according to location. Parking durations range from 30 minutes to no time limit, depending on parking demand. Rates also vary and are predetermined according to parking analysis performed before and after meter placement.
There are multiple ways to quickly pay for parking. To pay using a mobile device, customers may scan to pay, text to pay, call to pay or use the ParkColumbus app. To pay at the nearest kiosk, customer must identify their zone using street signs, enter their license plate and pay with coin or card. It's that simple.
