Hard Road Phase A
Description: Phases A, B and C will widen Hard Road from two lanes to five between Sawmill Road and SR 315. Phases B and C are now complete. Phase A is approximately 1.2 miles in length. Planned improvements include curbs, sidewalks, street lighting, storm sewer, traffic signals, signs, pavement markings and bike lanes. With an increase in residential development, widening of Hard Road was deemed necessary in order to decrease traffic congestion and improve pedestrian movements within the project limits.

Shelly & Sands Inc. has been selected as the contractor. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained at all times during construction.
Estimated Costs:
Design: $1,200,000
Right-of-way acquisition: $1.7 million (estimate)
Construction and inspection: $15 million (estimate)
(Funded primarily by the MORPC with some City of Columbus dollars)
