Lazelle Road Improvements
Description:
The
city of Columbus and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) are
collaborating to improve Lazelle Road between High Street and Worthington-Galena Road. The project will be done in
three phases and widen parts of Lazelle Road to accommodate the addition of
left-turn lanes and include other upgrades to improve safety for pedestrians
and bicyclists. The project is subject to the availability of funding, and will
include:
Lazelle Phase A & B:
US 23 to Sancus Boulevard including roundabout at South Old State Road
Reconstruction of roadway and widening Lazelle Road for
additional lanes.
- 2 EB & 2 WB lanes with a center turn lane east of the
roundabout.
- 1 EB & 1 WB lane with a center turn lane west of the
roundabout.
Relocation of South Old State Road at its intersection
with Lazelle Road including construction of a roundabout.
Reconstruction of the CSX & Norfolk Southern railroad
bridges over Lazelle Road.
Installation of a new traffic signal at the Flint Road
& Lazelle Road intersection.
Addition of sidewalks on the south side and a shared-use
path on the north side of Lazelle Road in addition to curbs, gutters, and curb
ramps.
New drainage, pavement markings, street lighting, and
landscaping.
Project Cost: $22.6 million
