First pool since Maryland in 1929

Mel Dodge becomes Director; 104 park sites over 9,300 acres. Vice President Hubert Humphrey visits Blackburn 1st public Campground opens at Griggs Reservoir with 70 reservable sites.

Lower Scioto Trail

1.7 miles of bike way opened along the west side of the Scioto River on the levee in Southview (Berliner) Park.

Won Gold Medal Award National recognition of Excellence in Recreation & Park management.
