Columbus Cultural Arts Center Announces July Events
COLUMBUS – The Columbus Cultural Arts Center (CAC) has announced its July 2021 calendar of events.
Exhibitions:
Works by Sharone Putter and Philip Sorenson
July 16-Aug. 21, Main Gallery
Artist Sharone Putter will exhibit new works exploring the world of construction, including lithographs and mixed media drawings. Sculptor and attorney Philip Sorensen will be celebrated in a posthumous exhibition of his work. This exhibition will be curated by his family.

Hard & Soft
July 16-Aug. 21, Loft Gallery
CAC instructors Tanya Pirasteh and Vasiliev Nini will exhibit 2-D and 3-D works created by their students, in disciplines ranging from drawing to clay. The exhibition will be curated by ¡Katie B Funk!

Summer session at the Cultural Arts Center takes place July 12-Sept. 4. Multiple classes still have available slots. Register online at culturalartscenteronline.org or in person at 139 W. Main St. Hours do vary, so be sure to check the website when planning your trip to the facility.

Conversations & Coffee Art Talks (Virtual)
Thursdays, Noon-1 p.m.
This free program features a different artist every other week, sharing insights into their creative process.
July 8: Curator Leticia Vázquez-Smith and film photographer Jamie Ceasar will share insights about their work, which was featured in June’s “The Art of Surviving a Pandemic.”
July 22: Katrinka Hagovsky and Linda Coe from the Central Ohio Watercolor Society (COWS) will join us to discuss recent projects, exhibitions and more.

The health and safety of participants and staff is our top priority. We have implemented rigorous, department-wide procedures, which include:
- Access to our facilities is limited to registered visitors and staff.
- Masks = Kindness. Although face coverings are not required, they are strongly recommended.
- Social distancing - staying six feet away from others - must be observed at all times, with an understanding of the challenges and limitations for social distancing with very young children and individuals with disabilities.
- If you are feeling sick (cough, fever, nausea, runny nose, etc.), you must stay home.
- Only one person is permitted in the elevator at a time, with the exception of individuals requiring assistance and families/members of the same household.
