Columbus Cultural Arts Center Announces May Events

COLUMBUS – The Columbus Cultural Arts Center (CAC) has announced its May 2021 calendar of events.

Exhibitions:

Central Ohio Watercolor Society - Annual Spring Show  

April 23 - May 29, Main Gallery

The Cultural Arts Center will host the group’s 2021 Spring Juried Exhibition.

Instagram Live virtual walkthrough TBA.

Transitions April 23 - May 29, Loft Gallery

Artist Marvin Daniels will be exhibiting works in pottery, painting and mixed media.

Workshop:

It’s Always the Write Time

Saturday, April 24, 10 a.m.- 2 p.m., Book Arts Studio - 3rd Floor

Do you love to write? Have you always wanted to try your hand at creative writing? Join for this workshop with instructor Mimi Chenfeld! Register online.

Cost: $20.

 

Programming:

Conversations & Coffee Art Talks (Virtual)

Thursdays, Noon – 1 p.m.

This free program features a different artist every other week, sharing insights into their creative process.

May 13: Artist and designer Jennifer McCracken will share insights about her work, including enameling and current exhibition, Experiments in Nature. Register online.

May 27: Glass artist Bryan Fumo will discuss techniques, best practices and more. Register online.

 

COVID-19 Safety Protocols:

The health and safety of participants and staff is our top priority. We have implemented rigorous, department-wide procedures, which include:

  • Access to our facilities is limited to registered visitors and staff. Visitors to the gallery must register in advance for a time block.  
  • Face coverings must be worn at all times unless otherwise noted.
  • Staff will perform temperature checks on each visitor when they arrive at our facilities.
  • Social distancing - staying six feet away from others - must be observed at all times, with an understanding of the challenges and limitations for social distancing with very young children and individuals with disabilities. 
  • If you are feeling sick (cough, fever, nausea, runny nose, etc.), you must stay home.
  • Only one person is permitted in the elevator at a time, with the exception of individuals requiring assistance and families/members of the same household.
