Columbus Cultural Arts Center Announces November Events
COLUMBUS – The Columbus Cultural
Arts Center (CAC) has announced its November calendar of events.
Exhibitions
Out of Tunes
Nov. 19 - Dec. 31; Main
Gallery
In this exhibition,
artist Brian Riegel takes reclaimed musical instruments and morphs them into
fantastical mixed media sculptures. Many of these instruments are
Steampunk/Dieselpunk inspired, and they are bound to make you wonder what you
might create from that old clarinet or trumpet that’s been hiding in the back
of your closet.
Opening Night: Friday,
Nov. 19

THE HUMAN FACTOR
Nov. 19 - Dec. 31; Loft
Gallery
In this exhibition,
artist Steven Riggs combines old world techniques with oils and graphite in
order to create portraits, landscapes and mythological scenes. Each work is a
combination of past experiences, with an intense study of literature and
history.

features a different artist every other week, sharing insights into their
creative process. Information on how to join is available online.
- Nov. 11:
Loft Gallery artists Barbara Vogel and Marge Bender join us to chat all
things Masks –
an exhibition centered around the all too familiar surgical mask, and all
the playful (and playfully disturbing) ways both artists explored them.
- Nov. 18: Main
Gallery artist Brian Riegel joins the conversation to tell us more about
the mixed media installation Out
of Tunes, which reclaims musical instruments in new and
fascinating ways.
